חָרוֹרָא

חָרוֹרָאm. (חור, v. חִיוַּרְוָרַיָּא; cmp. P. Sm. 1226, sq. s. v. חור) dazzling the eye, deceiver.Pl. חָרוֹרִין, constr. (חֲרוּ׳) חֲרוֹרֵי, with עיינין. Targ. Y. I Deut. 18:10 (Y. II ed. Amst. חָרוֹדֵי, corr. acc.); ib. 14 (h. text מְעֹנֵן, derived fr. עוּן, v. Snh.65b quot. s. v. זְכוּרוּ). Targ. Y. Lev. 19:26 ולא אחורי סנהדרין עיינין, read: ולא חרורי עיינין, the word סנהדרין being a glossators reference to Snh. l. c.
